Philosophy

My role as a teacher is to help students to make connections socially, emotionally, and academically through critical thinking and the mastery of creative processes and skills. It is my intention to guide students to examine issues, question their perceptions, and to solve problems creatively, critically, and with meaning. I believe that collaborative art processes open up new ways of seeing the community, society, and the world. Through art, students are able to learn to respect and appreciate differing points of view and become aware of different cultures and traditions.
